Sacramento Kings Sign Kyle Guy To A Two-Way Contract
By Rafe Wong
The Sacramento Kings have officially added second-round pick Kyle Guy to their roster next season as both parties agreed to a two-way contract.
In the last week, Sacramento Kings basketball has been back for their beloved fans to see. It started with the California Summer Classic as the team’s summer league squad played three games in front of the Golden 1 Center crowd where they finished the event with a record of 1-2.
Just days after that, the team traveled to Las Vegas to play in the NBA Summer League Las Vegas tournament. So far, it has been smooth as the Kings blew past China in their opener with a 94-77 victory.
Obviously, there have been ups and downs from the purple and white during their summer league play. But let us talk about a positive which has been Kyle Guy.
In all four games that the Kings have played this summer, Guy has been an asset in every one of them. With his ability to make shots at a high rate while making good decisions on the offensive end, he has been arguably the top player for the Kings in summer league.
Kings Lock In Their Guy
As a result of Guy’s efficient play, both him and Sacramento have already agreed on a two-way contract which will make Guy a King for the 2019-2020 season. This means Guy’s salary will be depended on how many games he plays both as a King and as a member of the Stockton Kings, the Kings’ G-League affiliate.
Final Thoughts
Overall, this looks to be a good deal for Sacramento. Kyle Guy has shown good promise that he can be a help for the Kings in the future. But right now, he still needs to hone his skills as a player, especially on the defensive side of the ball.
Hopefully, Guy continues to impress in summer league and give Kings fans even more hope of what the future holds for the purple and white.
