With the way the Sacramento Kings have handled free agency, it shows what they think about the youth on their team.
With free agency only in its second day, the Sacramento Kings have used up the majority of their cap space and acquired players they hope can help them reach the playoffs next season. As a result of the Kings using their cap space, they have brought in five new guys to join their squad.
These players are the veteran small forward Trevor Ariza, the consummate professional Harrison Barnes, the scrappy big man Dewayne Dedmon, the raw and athletic Richaun Holmes, and the reliable point guard Cory Joseph.
For the Kings, there are many reasons why they signed these players. Reason number one is that all of them have shown in their track record that they can play and positively contribute to a team. Reason number two is that each signing fulfills a hole that the Kings used to have on their roster. And reason number three is that most of their new guys are veterans that can become good mentors for the Kings’ youth.
Speaking of the Kings’ youngsters, let us talk about them and the impact they made towards Vlade Divac’s free agent approach. In my opinion, the way the Kings handled the free agency period really shows the confidence they have in their group of young talent.
With that being said, enjoy this slideshow which will explain why the Sacramento Kings are all in on their youth to eventually bring them an NBA championship.
