Willie Cauley-Stein Wants Out From The Sacramento Kings
By Rafe Wong
In recent free agent news, Sacramento Kings’ center Willie Cauley-Stein is looking elsewhere to continue his basketball journey.
A lot of questions have arisen pertaining to how the Sacramento Kings will construct their roster this summer. And a big question that has been thrown around is what they decide to do with Willie Cauley-Stein?
Well, it seems like the four-year big man has answered that question just as free agency is nearing us. According to Jason Anderson, writer for the Sacramento Bee, Cauley-Stein’s agent has stated that his client would like to become an unrestricted free agent so he has full liberty to decide his next journey in the NBA.
With this news, it likely means that Willie returning with the purple and white is unlikely. Looking from the outside, it seems like both parties might have a mutual agreement here, as many rumors have spiraled about the Kings being interested in signing other free agent big men.
For Cauley-Stein, his tenure with the Sacramento Kings was a roller coaster. There were times through the years where he was playing like the ideal big man. But with that said, there were those moments where he would be nonexistent for the team as well.
For Cauley-Stein, he spent his first four NBA years with the Kings organization. During that time, he averaged around 10 points, six rebounds, and one block per contest and made around 53% of his shots from the floor.
In this recent campaign, he had his best numbers recorded as he contributed around 12 points, eight rebounds, and two assists a game.
Hey, Kings fans. Do you think the Kings should try to keep Willie and make him the starting center for the future? To give us your opinions on the topic, feel free to comment on our website, Facebook page, or Twitter account.
