We now know who and when the Sacramento Kings will be playing when they take the floor for Summer League play.

The Sacramento Kings had a reasonably disappointing draft. But with the draft now come and gone, can the summer league be something to look forward to before free agency and the regular season begin?

The California Classic Returns!

The Kings will start the summer league playing in the annual California Classic at the Golden 1 Center. Playing three games in three days will definitely have the team’s community excited.

The Kings’ campaign starts off on July 1st against the current NBA runner-ups Golden State Warriors. The Heat will be their next opponent as they will play on July 2nd. (Side note: Why is Miami even in this league instead of the Phoenix Suns or Los Angeles Clippers?) And lastly, on July 3rd, the Kings will be playing their arch-rival in the Los Angeles Lakers.

Kings Head To Vegas

The Kings will then take the short travel down to Las Vegas for the MGM Resorts NBA Summer League where they will be playing four games over a week-long tournament.

Last year in this tournament, the Kings had a seemingly disappointing time finishing 21st overall with players like Harry Giles, Marvin Bagley III, Justin Jackson, and Frank Mason III playing on the team. This year’s team is a little unknown due to the new draft picks the Kings acquired last week.

The Kings start this tournament on July 6 against China, then play the Dallas Mavericks on July 8, then the Houston Rockets on July 9, and lastly the Los Angeles Clippers on July 11. Depending on where the Kings are ranked after those four games will determine the rest of their schedule.
