Jontay Porter isn’t a sure, but — when healthy — he’s arguably one of the five best player in this draft.

Jontay Porter has legitimate star potential, and he went undrafted. His two torn ACL’s are a very serious cause for concern, but if the Sacramento Kings weren’t concerned with adding immediate contributors in the draft, then why not take Porter?

Porter is an incredible player, and the Kings demonstrated an ability to successfully work a talented but injured player back to a productive state with Harry Giles. And Porter is a better prospect.

He’s got an incredibly high basketball IQ, can shoot and is terrific above the rim. Of course he may never reach the potential many thought he had prior to his injuries, but with the 55th pick, isn’t it worth the chance?

He’s one of only a handful of players in the entire draft with superstar potential, and he fell to the Kings not once, not twice but three times and they failed to pursue him. He is still a UDFA on the market, so it’s possible they still add him, but with their three second round picks already on the roster, it’s unlikely they bring him aboard. Understandable, but it’s a shame.
