Player #4: Jordan Bone

Another Tennessee Volunteer has made the list. Jordan Bone would have been a solid pick for the Kings at #40, but they decided to go in another direction.

During Tennessee’s amazing run during the college season, Bone was a big reason for their success. For the season, he averaged around 14 points, three rebounds, and six assists per game and made around 47% of his shots from the court, 36% of his shots from three, and 84% of his shots from the free-throw line.

If the Kings were to select Bone, it would have given them a possible solution to their backup point guard hole. Last season, Tennessee’s offense was one of the best due to their ability to play fast. Bone deserves credit for this due to him facilitating the offense and making smart decisions on a nightly basis. He had both the ability to set up scores for himself and others on his team.

As for a defender, Bone has the athleticism to become a lockdown defender one day. But he needs to get stronger and adjust to the physicality that the NBA brings.

Although Bone may not be ready to step up to the backup point guard role this season, he would have been a nice pickup for the Kings due to having the potential to become De’Aaron Fox’s backup for the long haul.
