Player #2: Bol Bol

I could not believe that the Kings passed on this guy at #40. Entering the draft, Bol Bol was considered one of the top prospects in his class and a guy that seemed like a shoo-in to be selected in the first round.

In his lone season (nine games) with the Oregon Ducks, Bol averaged around 21 points, 10 rebounds, and three blocks per game and made around 56% of his shots from the floor.

Even though his time with the Ducks was short-lived, Bol was definitely the best player on the team. Offensively, he was a monster in the interior and could even extend his game to the perimeter at times. And defensively, Bol was a protector of the rim and could rebound the ball efficiently.

With the combination of his lack of strength and missing most of the collegiate season with a foot injury, Bol is not someone who can contribute right away. But with that said, the Kings should have still taken the chance on him.

Bol has the potential to be a beast in the NBA with his size, length, and athleticism. And with the Kings’ future at the center position still up in the air, taking Bol at #40 would have been a good risk for Vlade Divac to take.
