This is the definition of a low-risk, high-reward trade that the Kings would be wise to make.

If this trade is on the table, Vlade Divac should — without hesitation — make this trade.

Second round picks aren’t likely to turn into stars, and trading for a former lottery pick is an outstanding move, regardless of whether it pans out or not. That’s not to say Frank Ntilikina will turn into a star — far from it — but his combination of length and defensive potential are hard to overlook.

He’s also just 20 years old and the Kings have a myriad of second round picks. If the Knicks are truly serious about shopping him, the Kings should pounce.

He’s an atrocious shooter, but, again, he’s extremely young and hasn’t played in the most friendly environment for player development. With the proper system in place and by surrounding him with shooters, Ntilikina could very well become a solid rotation player for a team that desperately needs a backup point guard.

Will it happen? Who knows, but these are the types of moves that separate the good executives from the bad ones. Call the Knicks, Vlade.
