If the insane became reality and the New Orleans Pelicans were open to trading the #1 pick, what kind of offer could the Sacramento Kings make to get Zion Williamson?

The NBA Draft is upon us which means that college phenom Zion Williamson will soon start his NBA journey with the New Orleans Pelicans. For the last year, Williamson was a spectacle in the NCAA world as his athleticism, strength, and motor instantly captivated basketball fans everywhere.

The next NBA star is upon us folks, and most likely, he will be a Pelican due to New Orleans having the first overall pick in the draft.

But let us have a little fun and think of the insane. What if the Pelicans opened the discussion of trading the first pick of the draft to any team that desires it. If you were Vlade Divac and company, what kind of offer do you make in order to bring the marketing gold mine in Zion Williamson to California’s capital?

To me, this is what I would do.

The Offer For Zion

The Kings would have to offer a lot to bring Zion’s talents to Sacramento. So fair warning, Kings fans. This next part of the article may not be worth reading.

If I were Divac and heard that Zion was on the market, I would offer Marvin Bagley III, Buddy Hield, Bogdan Bogdanovic, and the 40th and 47th picks in this year’s draft for Zion, Solomon Hill, E’Twaun Moore, and their 39th pick in this draft.

This gives the Pelicans a ton of assets to add on to the already large haul of young talents that they have already while the Kings get a superstar talent in Williamson to pair with De’Aaron Fox. With that pair, the Kings would be must-watch television all season long.

I do not know whether the Kings or the Pelicans would press the deal button on this offer, but this is the most that I would offer if I was Vlade Divac.
