Final Thoughts On Jerome

Ty Jerome is not quick or has an impressive athletic build. He does not contain the flash that players like Jason Kidd or Jason Williams possess. But he is a guy that can help contribute to an NBA team one day.

John Stockton was not quick or someone that was very athletic. What he was though was a smart player who executed well when on the floor. Stockton ended up making the NBA Hall of Fame. Not to say that Jerome will be there guaranteed, but he plays the same style that Stockton did.

When you find a second-round pick who can enhance your roster, your team has done well and have beaten the odds. I think Jerome can help the Kings accomplish that.

Chances The Kings Can Land Jerome

Predicting where a player might be selected is not an exact science. For this reason, where a player is predicted to be chosen varies from site to site. Ty Jerome can go as high as the middle of the first round to as low as the end of the second round, in my mind. This makes the Kings’ chances to pick him at #40 very slim.

If Vlade Divac really wants to go after Jerome, moving up in the draft gives him the most realistic chance. The Kings most likely would have to package their other second-round picks to move up. Teams with salary cap issues could do business with the Kings for both teams to benefit in the end.

Not many people, if any, know what direction Vlade Divac is leaning towards when it comes to the draft. But everyone will find out soon this coming Thursday.
