The Sacramento Kings may not be competing for a championship this season, but today is an important day. Scroll down to find out why.

Well, today is May 9th and the Sacramento Kings are out of the playoffs for a 13th straight season. But with that being said, today is an important day.

The reason why May 9th is significant because it is Kings’ point guard Yogi Ferrell’s birthday. It is also Kings’ forward Nemanja Bjelica’s birthday. And oh yeah, today is Kings’ color commentator and legendary defender Doug Christie’s birthday as well. Three birthdays for people within the Kings’ organization, that we know of…

To no surprise, many in the Kings community did not forget that three members of their team are celebrating their special day today. And as a result, the fans took their reactions and comments to the Twitter world.

Final Thoughts

Last summer, Vlade Divac and company signed both Ferrell and Bjelica in the hope that they could help the Kings this season. And based on how they performed, I would say they did exactly that.

Also, the Kings organization made the move to hire Christie as the team’s color commentator last year once Jerry Reynolds stepped down from the position. In my opinion, he has done a solid job with one season under his belt.
