Final Thoughts

In my opinion, the Kings still need to find a way to add depth to their small forward position, and adding a guy like Jimmy Butler would be a benefit to them.

If the Kings were to acquire Butler this summer, it would be a huge upgrade for the team as it would escalate their chances of making the postseason next year. With the cap space that the Kings have, they could definitely afford the multiple All-Star, as well as keep their young core in place AND Harrison Barnes as well. Just imagine the lineups the Kings could be playing with all that talent and versatility on one roster?

Yes, adding Jimmy to the roster would be a big risk due to the Kings likely giving him the max, but Vlade Divac and company need to take some gambles in order for the Kings to take that next step into their rebuild. And to me, taking this gamble on Butler is worth it.

In the 65 games that Butler played in this season, he averaged around 19 points, five rebounds, four assists, and two steals per game while shooting 46% from the floor, 35% from the perimeter, and 86% from the free-throw line. These numbers have been pretty constant throughout his career and should remain similar if he does represent the purple and white.
