With NBA free agency getting closer by the day, should the Sacramento Kings have star forward Jimmy Butler on their list of players to go after?
Right now the NBA Playoffs are in session, but unfortunately, the Sacramento Kings are not in it, and instead, are preparing for the next regular season. A lot of work needs to be done for Vlade Divac and company. The ultimate goal now is to construct a playoff-caliber roster by the end of the summer. This means whichever holes are currently within the team’s personnel, the Kings need to address them soon.
One of the holes on the Kings’ roster and a popular topic within the team’s community is what the purple and white will decide to do at the small forward position. Even with the addition of Harrison Barnes last February, the Kings are still thin at the three spot and should find a way to add more depth to the position.
In my opinion, the best way for the Kings to bolster the small forward spot is by doing it through free agency. With the team currently having no first-round draft pick this year, the chances are low that they would draft a wing player that could be a positive impact right away.
The other option could be to trade for a small forward, but in this case, it could result in Vlade Divac giving away one (or multiple) of their young assets in order to do so.
Luckily, there are lots of wing players that will become free agents this summer. But which ones have star-caliber talent while being a realistic option for the Kings this summer?
