Nemanja Bjelica’s Contract Is Valuable For The Kings

With how contracts are being handed out in today’s NBA, I feel comfortable saying that the Sacramento Kings got a steal when signing Nemanja Bjelica last summer.

Throughout Bjelica’s first three seasons with the Minnesota Timberwolves, he made roughly around $12 million. Now, he is due to make a total of over $20 million with the Kings as he signed a three-year deal which will have him earning around $6-7 million per season.

Even with Nemanja making a lot more money now than he did with Minnesota, it is still a financial steal for the Kings. Maybe it was not a surprise for the people within the organization, but Kings fans were shocked with the efficiency Bjelica showcased for the overall season as he was a versatile asset within Dave Joerger’s rotation of players.

Since being appointed the General Manager, Vlade Divac talked about collecting assets without having to overvalue them. Based on how he performed this season, Bjelica fits the type of players that Divac wants on his team.
