Recently, the news came out that Sacramento Kings’ new head coach in Luke Walton is being sued by a woman for sexual assault. To see more details on the issue, scroll down below.

Not too long ago, the Sacramento Kings and Vlade Divac made the controversial decision to relieve Dave Joerger from his head coaching duties in order to hire Luke Walton as their new guy. Well, that coaching change by the purple and white may already be regrettable based on the latest news that was released to the public.

According to TMZ Sports, a report has been released that Walton is being sued for sexual harassment. The woman making the charges against Walton is Kelli Tennant who was a sports reporter for Spectrum SportsNet as she covered both the Los Angels Lakers and Los Angeles Dodgers during her tenure.

The lawsuit details an incident that happened several years ago when Walton was with the Golden State Warriors. Walton allegedly performed inappropriate sexual actions towards Tennant in a hotel room, as well as multiple encounters by the two after that.

Once the report came out, the Sacramento Kings put out a memo stating that they are aware of the incident and will decide what to do once gathering all the details of the situation.

Final Thoughts

Overall, this might be a potential nightmare in the making for the Kings. If the reports are accurate regarding Walton’s lawsuit, firing him would be the inevitable and ethical choice to make, which would put the Kings back in the hunt for their next head coach.
