He may not be on the Sacramento Kings anymore, but that does not mean love is not lost between the team’s community and DeMarcus Cousins.

Before the Sacramento Kings and Vlade Divac began a new rebuild in 2017, DeMarcus Cousins was the center of attention for the Kings and their fans. Throughout his seven years with the organization, Cousins was a beast in the interior as he asserted himself as one of the best big men in the NBA.

During his tenure with the Kings, Boogie averaged around 21 points and 11 rebounds a contest while making 46% of his shots from the court.

When Cousins was on the Kings, he and the team were unable to reach the postseason. So when he was competing in the playoffs this season as a Golden State Warrior, fans in Sacramento were thrilled to see their former star finally play in the postseason spotlight,

Unfortunately, that time was short lived for DeMarcus as in Game 2 of the first round, he suffered a torn quad which will have him out for the remainder of the season. When that moment happened, media members and fans of the Kings were saddened by it and took their reactions to social media.

Not only did Kings fans express their support for Boogie, but his basketball peers as well. Including current Kings’ big man Harry Giles.

Final Thoughts

Although the breakup between Cousins and the Kings was messy, the fans of the team still support and appreciate the loyalty he had in both the franchise and community.

DeMarcus Cousins was a rare breed. He was a star talent that wanted to play for the Kings. Not only that, but he invested so much into the Sacramento community into making it a better place.

It has been a tough couple of years for Boogie Cousins as he has suffered a couple of brutal injuries. But hopefully, he will be able to bounce back from this recent injury like he did when he tore his Achilles during the 2017-18 season.

Get better, Boogie! Praying for a speedy recovery and for you to get back on the court soon.
