Sacramento Kings: De’Aaron Fox’s Chances Of Winning NBA’s Most Improved

From Star To SUPERstar: Paul George
Paul George has always been an above-average player. Previous to this season, he had earned an invitation to the NBA All-Star game five times and has gained the reputation of being one of the best two-way players in the league.
Although Goeroge had already been considered a star player prior to this season, he was never known as the guy that a franchise can rely on to be the number one man. Well, that perspective changed this season.
In George’s 2017-18 campaign, while being the number two guy to Russell Westbrook, he averaged around 22 points, six rebounds, and three assists per match while shooting 43% from the floor, 40% from three, and 82% from the free-throw line.
It always seemed like as long as Westbrook was in OKC, George would never be THE guy for the Thunder. But as time has told us, George put the team on his back this season as he had to constantly lead his team to victory.
In 77 appearances, George contributed 28 points, eight rebounds, and four assists a night while making 44% of his total shots, 39% of his three-pointers, and 84% of his free-throws. George also was able to keep his defensive efficiency on point while putting together a compilation of clutch baskets that helped his team win significant games throughout the campaign.
Although the difference between George’s last two seasons is not dramatic, it is still impressive to see him make such a solid jump considering he was producing All-Star numbers prior. Before we considered George the ideal sidekick for a superstar player, but after this regular season, it seems like George was the superstar all along.
