Reason #1: Dave Has Earned It

Dave Joerger’s time with the Kings has been a rollercoaster. In his first year with the team, the goal was to make the playoffs with the likes of DeMarcus Cousins and veteran “assets”.

But halfway through that season, the Kings threw that blueprint out and started fresh. They parted ways with their star center and decided to start a new regime that contained young talent and a faster pace of basketball.

This had to be a hard transition for Joerger and his staff, but they ended up following the plan and doing their best to make it work.

Fast forward to now and Joerger has this new Kings team on the rise. Not only has he been able to formulate a fast-paced offense that works for his personnel, but he and his coaching staff have done a great job in making sure the young talent on their roster have blossomed in their developments.

In my opinion, it has been a long time since the Kings have had a coach as good as Joerger. He has shown that he can develop talent and create a system that satisfies both his players and the front office of the franchise.

Even with many distractions coming his way, Joerger has endured the turmoil and has kept his squad continuing to be an entertaining product on the court.
