Sacramento Kings: 3 Ups To Marvin Bagley III’s Rookie Year
By Rafe Wong
Reason #1: Ability to Score
One of Bagley’s strengths entering the NBA draft was his ability to rack up points. During his time with Duke, Bagley was the team’s leading scorer as he bullied his opponents on a nightly basis. As a result, he averaged over 21 points a game.
To a lesser degree, but still effective, Bagley has developed into a reliable scorer for Sacramento as he is averaging around 14 points a game while making over 50% of his shots from the floor.
But enough with the numbers. What makes Bagley special on the offensive end is how versatile he is in scoring the ball. Whether it is posting in the interior or shooting from outside, Bagley has been able to score efficiently. What also has made Bagley special is that he is one of the few guys on the Kings who has been successful in creating points on his own.
At only the age of 19, Bagley has gained a reputation as one of the better scorers on the Kings this season. Expect him to keep that label for many years to come.
