Sacramento Kings Get Some Love From The National Media
By Rafe Wong
The Sacramento Kings have been a pleasant surprise this season, and people outside of the franchise’s community have noticed the uprise as well.
The Sacramento Kings have been an entertaining team to watch this season. Due to their electric and fast-paced offense to their gritty defense at times, they have gifted their fans the experience of watching a competitive team night in and night out. As a result, the purple and white are currently tied for the eighth seed in the Western Conference standings with a record of 30-27.
Obviously, people from within the Kings community have noticed that their team is on the rise, but there have not been many that have commended the Kings outside of the fanbase. That is until the Kings talked with Reggie Miller and Kings’ great Chris Webber.

"“Those days are over now. They are a legitimate Western Conference Playoff team. This is a scary team that’s on the uprise, a lot like the Brooklyn Nets because of how they play. They play so hard, they’re not afraid, they’re not intimidated.” -Reggie Miller"
Miller and Webber, who are currently media members at TNT, took time to talk about the young Kings not too long ago. In those interviews, both guys had a lot of positive things to say about the Kings. They mentioned the effort and energy that Sacramento plays with, as well as the dominance that De’Aaron Fox and Buddy Hield have displayed throughout the season. They also believe that Sacramento is a team that looks to make some noise in the upcoming future.
"“Vlade has believed in these guys, especially Fox. Vlade told me a long time ago that he was going to change the trajectory of the team. Buddy Hield is maybe the most underrated player in the league right now.” -Chris Webber"
Final Thoughts
For the last few years, the Kings have been a joke to the national media due to their losing ways and dysfunction. But those days are over now. The Kings have a ton of young talent on the rise, and most importantly, they are competitive.
If the Kings continue their pattern of improvement, they will keep on gaining respect from the NBA community and be a force to reckon with for their opponents.
Hey TNT, how about adding more Kings games to your schedule!?
