The Charlotte Hornets are not in a good spot now. When the cap exploded in  2016, the Charlotte Hornets went big, signing Nicolas Batum to a five-year, $120 million deal, Marvin Williams to a four-year, $54 million deal and had already signed Michael Kidd-Gilchrist to an extension worth $52 million.

Dylan Jackson of At The Hive gives an excellent breakdown of the Hornets cap woes here, but suffice to say it’s not pretty. Enter: the Sacramento Kings. The Kings are flush with cap-space and have a need for a small forward, the Charlotte Hornets have reportedly made Nicolas Batum available and are desperately trying to dump him. So, let’s help them out.

You may be noticing a trend here, in that it wouldn’t take the Kings much to acquire these players, especially when their paid as handsomely as they are. Back in December, I broke down whether or not the Kings should trade for Nicolas Batum here, so I won’t spend much time on it, but in short: Batum fills and need and so does Kaminsky, to a lesser extent.

While Batum has a large contract, there’s only two-years remaining and he could immediately slot in as the Kings starting small forward, while Kaminsky would provide a serviceable big off the bench who can rebound and shoot threes.

More. Should the Sacramento Kings make a play for Nicolas Batum?. light

This one isn’t based of any rumors, but it just makes sense doesn’t it?
