For the Sacramento Kings to leave the Barclay Center with a win today, they need to have their guards perform at a high level.

Today the Sacramento Kings will be in the Barclay Center to face off against the Brooklyn Nets. Currently, the Kings are on their third game of a six-game road trip in which they have a record of 1-1 so far. In the season overall, the purple and white have a record of 24-22 and are the 10th seed in the Western Conference.

As for the Nets, they have been the feel-good story in the East this season. Behind the play of their young and talented roster, they have been able to earn a record of 24-23 and are currently in a position to compete in the postseason.

Guard Play Important In This Game

When analyzing both these teams’ rosters, their guards stand out the most.

For the Nets, their main contributors this season have been D’Angelo Russell and Spencer Dinwiddie. Throughout the season, the Nets have relied on Russell to facilitate the starting lineup while Dinwiddie has had the responsibility of running the second unit. And so far, they have done a good job. For the dynamic duo, they combine for around 36 points, six rebounds, and 11 assists a game for their team.

As for Sacramento, they have a pretty good group of guards as well in De’Aaron Fox, Buddy Hield, and Bogdan Bogdanovic. With Fox and Hield, they have developed into a lethal starting backcourt as the two can beat opponents with their elite shooting and playmaking skills. As for Bogdanovic, he has done a great job as the catalyst for the Kings’ second unit.

How The Kings Can Win?

In order for the Kings to win today, their guards must outplay the guards for the Nets. In order for the purple and white to win this battle, they must play within their element. Offensively, this means that they must play at a fast pace and set their teammates up for easy scores as well as themselves.

As for the defensive side of the ball, the Kings must make sure that Russell and Dinwiddie are playing out of their comfort zone by playing active and physical defense.

Overall, if De’Aaron Fox, Buddy Hield, and Bogdan Bogdanovic can all have good games on both ends of the court, then the Kings should become a 25-22 squad by the end of the day.
