With the Sacramento Kings on the road for six straight games, what is the realistic expectation for them to focus on?
The Sacramento Kings have a good test ahead of them as their next six games will be on the road. Their road trip will consist of opponents in the Charlotte Hornets, Detroit Pistons, Brooklyn Nets, Toronto Raptors, Memphis Grizzlies, and Los Angeles Clippers.
For any sports team, playing on the road for a long stretch can be tough. But with the Kings currently being the tenth seed in the Western Conference, it is important for them to have some success on the trip.
If Sacramento can get a few wins during this stretch, then they could make their way back into the playoff picture. But if they caught slipping and go on a losing streak, then they would lose massive momentum.
So with that being said, what is a realistic expectation for the fans to have towards their team’s six-game road trip?
What Is The Expectation?
Obviously, the first thing to expect from the Kings is for them to play good basketball. They must enter EVERY game with a lot of energy and they should be competitive in every contest.
Now let us analyze how many wins the purple and white can get. When looking at the Kings’ schedule, some of their games are against inferior opponents. In my opinion, the Charlotte Hornets, Detroit Pistons, Brooklyn Nets, and Memphis Grizzlies are all teams that the Kings can beat, so they should win at least half of these games. The Kings are also facing off against teams like the Toronto Raptors and Los Angeles Clippers which will probably be the biggest challenges for them during the stretch.
So after looking at the schedule, my realistic expectation for the Kings in their upcoming road trip is either winning three or four games. I do think that they are better than four of the six opponents they are facing, but let us remember that winning on the road is tough, especially when being on the road for a long period of time, so three games are more doable.
If the Kings were to win three games this road trip, I would consider it a success, even though I do not think they would make much ground in the standings. I do think, however, that winning four games is still a realistic goal for the Kings and would definitely be more ideal.
With the Kings about to start a six-game road trip, this stretch of games could either break their season or give them some good momentum later on. If the purple and white can split the trip (winning three games), then it should be considered a success for the team.
