The Sacramento Kings have been a feel-good story of the NBA this season. But with that being said, the drama still swirls around the franchise.

The Sacramento Kings may be the biggest surprise this NBA year so far. Many projected the purple and white to finish the 2018-2019 campaign with around 25 wins, but with a little bit over halfway through the season, the Kings have a record of 23-21.

It looks like the Kings are on the rise. They finally have a state-of-art arena, the team has a lot of promising young talent, and most importantly they are playing well. So all is good, right?

Well, we are talking about the Sacramento Kangz here.

Drama Alert

Even though the Kings have been performing well on the court, drama still finds its way within the franchise. A couple of months ago, the reports came out that the team’s front office and Dave Joerger were not seeing eye to eye with each other pertaining to the team’s personnel.  And just recently, it was reported that Vlade Divac held a conference call to inform minority owners of the team to stop meddling with front office issues.

My Wish For The Kings

It has been a long time since the Sacramento Kings have had a legit shot in qualifying for the postseason, and as a result, the Kings fanbase has developed a new light of hope for their team. But with the news stories coming out regarding the “dysfunction” happening with the team off the court, it does put a little stain on what has been an entertaining season for the franchise’s on-court product.

Hopefully, the Kings’ ownership and front office can become more cohesive as the season goes on. And then everybody in the team’s community can enjoy the uprise of their young and talented team.

For once in a very long time, can the Sacramento Kings just be a winning team with no drama around them? The city of Sacramento and the franchise’s fanbase deserves it, and the Kings have the opportunity this season to become that organization for them.
