Play Your Own Game

This is the most important thing the Kings can do tonight in order to win this game. Unlike the Suns, the Kings have been able to make strides in their rebuild, therefore, making their way up in the standings while Phoenix is still living in the basement.

In most statistical categories, the Kings are ahead of the Suns. So if the Kings just stick to their game and execute the way they know they can, everything should be alright for them.

Offensively, Sacramento must play fast as much as possible. This means De’Aaron Fox and the Kings’ other facilitators have to increase the tempo of the game every time they get the ball in their hands and try to find which players have the best chances to score.

Defensively, the Kings need to be active. Even though the Suns have been bad this season, their young guys still have the potential to light up the scoreboard if the Kings get caught slipping. Although Sacramento’s defense has been subpar this season, they have shown flashes of collectively being a lockdown team. At the very least, the Kings must show those flashes tonight.

This is not a “must win” game for the Kings, but it is a “you better win” type of scenario. The Kings do not get many opportunities to play against opponents that are clearly inferior to them. So when those chances come like tonight, they must take advantage of them in order to make ground in the standings.
