Guarding Devin Booker

Like the Kings, the Suns have a good amount of young talent on their roster. But when it comes to the Suns’ best player, Devin Booker is no doubt that guy.

Since coming out of college, Booker has been a scoring machine for Phoenix and continues to be one as he is averaging over 25 points per game this season. Not only has Booker been able to put the ball in the bucket, but he has also set up his teammates for scores as he averages over seven assists a night.

Throughout this campaign, the Suns have had to heavily rely on Booker if their team wants to be successful, so if the Kings want to lay the hammer down tonight, they must focus on stopping him.

The goal tonight for the Kings does not necessarily have to be to shut down the 22-year old star, but rather just limit him from going off. If the Kings’ defense ends up getting outmatched, that is fine. Their defense has not been good anyways. But if they let Booker singlehandedly torch them, that will be a problem.

Guys like Buddy Hield, De’Aaron Fox, and Bogdan Bogdanovic will probably have to guard Booker for most of the game tonight. Hopefully, they are able to be physical with him and make him play out of his comfort zone.
