Control The Perimeter
Let us move on to one of the Kings’ strengths this season which has been their perimeter shooting. A big part of why the Kings have such a lethal offense is due to how often and effective they can hit their shots from beyond the arc.
For the year, the Kings make around 12 three-pointers a contest (ranked eighth in the league) while recording a success rate of over 39% (ranked second in the league).
As for the Magic, they are not a bad three-point shooting club, but not as effective as the Kings. For the season, they are making around 11 threes a game (ranked 11th in the league) while recording a success rate of 35% (ranked 15th in the league).
For the Kings to be competitive in this game, they must have a usual or above average night in shooting the long ball. Guys like Buddy Hield, Bogdan Bogdanovic, and Nemanja Bjelica are usually the guys for Sacramento to contribute most of the team’s perimeter success, so keep an eye on those guys to be set up for open looks.
As for the defensive side of the ball, Sacramento needs to play good defense on Orlando’s best shooters like Evan Fournier, Terrence Ross, and D.J. Augustine and prevent them from having the hot hand.
