Sacramento Kings: Fourth-Quarter Rally Does Not Last, Lose To Portland In OT

The Sacramento Kings rallied back in the fourth quarter but ended up falling short to the Portland Trail Blazers in overtime.
The Sacramento Kings had a great opportunity tonight to move up in the standings as they faced the Portland Trail Blazers, but in the end, they ended up losing in overtime by a score of 113-108.

Game Summary
The first few minutes of the game was a struggle for both clubs as both were creating silly turnovers on offense. But as the game went on, both teams found their rhythm. For the Blazers, it was a collective effort as almost every player contributed on the court. For the Kings, it was Buddy Hield who put up 13 points in the quarter which led all scorers. There were many times that the lead changed throughout the quarter, but once it ended, the Blazers had a lead of 26-25.
In the second quarter, it was the Blazers that took full advantage. With the help of Seth Curry and Jusuf Nurkic, Portland was able to score on Sacramento easily as they recorded 38 points in the period. For the Kings, they continued to struggle on the offensive end but still managed to score 25 points behind the hot shooting of Buddy Hield. Going into halftime, the Kings found themselves behind by a score of 64-50.
In the first half, the Blazers were rolling on offense, but that was not the case in the second half. Portland immediately struggled to score the ball during the third period, and the Kings took advantage of the opportunity as they were able to trim the lead to six points after three.
When the Blazers have the lead after three quarters, they have not lost yet this season. But let us remember that the Kings are one of the best fourth-quarter teams in the league.
Right away, the Kings went on a rally which gave them the lead for the majority of the quarter. With three minutes left, the purple and white had a nine-point lead, but the Blazers came charging back behind the play of Damian Lillard and forced overtime. Once overtime was in session, the Kings became cold. They could not hit a bucket to save their life, and as a result, the Blazers were able to win the game by a score of 113-108.
