The Sacramento Kings have a grand opportunity to make a jump in the standings as they face off against the Los Angeles Lakers tonight.

Another day, another game where the Sacramento Kings face off against their division foe in the Los Angeles Lakers. It has only been three days since these last two teams met. That meeting ended in dramatic fashion as the Kings were able to top the Lakers due to a walkout three-point shot by the Serbian star himself Bogdan Bogdanovic.

Now that the Kings have had a couple of days to recover, they will compete against the Lakers again, this time in the Staples Center.

For the Kings, this is another great opportunity for them to win another game. The Lakers are still without their leader in LeBron James due to recovering from a groin injury, so obviously they are short-handed. But with that said, the Lakers still have a good group of young talent that can get the job done so the Kings cannot get caught slipping.

This matchup is also a great opportunity for the Kings to climb up in the standings. Currently, the purple and white are half a game back from the Lakers, so if they if they win tonight in Los Angeles, they will at least bounce up one spot in the playoff seedings.

This game may not be as hyped as the previous Kings-Lakers matchups in the early 2000s, but there is still some significant meaning to this game. Both teams are young and both are looking to end playoff droughts. Whoever wins tonight’s game will have the upper hand over the other going into the new year.
