Sacramento Kings: 3 Players To Watch For Against The Clippers
By Rafe Wong
Player #3: Iman Shumpert
It is critical for Iman Shumpert to have a good performance tonight on both ends of the court. For the Clippers, Tobias Harris and Danilo Gallinari are considered two of the Clippers’ best assets as they have constantly torched opponents this season. For the campaign, the duo combines for over 41 points, 14 rebounds, and four assists a contest.
Whether Shumpert’s assignment tonight is either Harris or Gallinari, he does not necessarily need to win the individual battle. Instead, Shumpert just needs to limit the two-headed monster.
Offensively, Shumpert needs to make sure he is making his perimeter shots as well as moving well without the ball in his hands to make sure his defenders are getting tired. As for the defensive side, Shumpert needs to showcase that lockdown defense he is known for in order to limit Harris and Gallinari’s play.
The Kings can endure having Tobias Harris and Danilo Gallinari play well tonight. What they cannot afford to do, however, is have the duo dominate the game. The group of Sacramento wing players needs to have a good collective performance tonight, but the tone has to be set by the veteran in Shumpert.
