The Sacramento Kings were unable to upset the Golden State Warriors as they lost by a score of 130-125.

The Sacramento Kings gave a good fight, but in the end, the Golden State Warriors won tonight’s game by a score of 130-125. With this loss, the Kings now fall to a record of 15-13 while the Warriors advance to 20-10.

With that said, let us dive into the game.

Game Summary

The game began with instant offense. Both the Kings and Warriors were rolling on offense as a total of 40 points were scored in the first five minutes of action. Even though Sacramento’s offense was hot, the Warriors still had more firepower as their execution was just a little better. Once the first quarter ended, Golden State led by a score of 42-38.

In the second quarter, the Warriors continued to dominate on offense as they finished with 34 points in the period. As for the Kings, their offense was limited compared to the first as they only scored 26 points. As a result, the Warriors won the second quarter as well which put them up by a score of 76-64 going into halftime.

In the third quarter, you guessed it, the Warriors’ offense kept rolling. The Kings desperately did their best to make a run and trim the lead, but Golden State’s offense was just too dominate behind their excellent ball movement and lethal perimeter shooting.

But just when you count the Kings out, they start to wake up. Behind the play of De’Aaron Fox, the Kings were able to make a mini-run to end the quarter as they trailed by just six points.

In the final quarter, the Kings caught on fire. Behind a lineup led by Buddy Hield and Bogdan Bogdanovic, the Kings went on a significant scoring run which gave them the lead for the majority of the period. But when their backs were against the wall, the Warriors stepped up. They continued to trim Sacramento’s lead, and in the end, a 17-2 run by Golden State eventually sealed them the victory in the end.

Final Thoughts

This loss is a tough one to swallow for Sacramento. They had the chance to upset the Warriors, but a huge scoring run by the reigning champs helped them win the game.

But with that said, the Kings are starting to become legit. Their record is solid and they have been competitive in most of their games this season, even against competition that is supposedly better than them.

It may be dark tonight but better days are ahead. The Sacramento Kings are actually a team that is on the rise!
