Sacramento Kings: 3 Players To Watch For Against Golden State
By Rafe Wong
Player #2: Buddy Hield
The Kings and Warriors have been two of the best offenses in the league so far as both average around 115 points a contest. For the Kings, their offense is usually on point when they have their starting backcourt playing well. This means for the Sacramento offense to excel, Buddy Hield will need to have a good night.
It has been a great third season for Buddy as he has asserted himself as a legit sharpshooter and scoring machine. In 27 games this campaign, he is averaging over 18 points a contest while shooting over 47% from the floor, 43% from the three-point line, and 83% from the free-throw stripe.
Obviously, the offense starts with De’Aaron Fox setting the pace, but Buddy is also an important component to the offense as well. When Buddy is hot shooting the ball, it adds a lethal weapon in the Kings’ arsenal which is what they need when facing Golden State. Not only that, but Hield’s shooting streaks can be contagious within his teammates as it has been proven in the past.
Not only does Buddy need a good scoring night, but he also has to contribute on the defensive end. Most likely, he will have the responsibility of defending Klay Thompson. In the past, Thompson has shown he can solely lead the Warriors to wins, so Hield needs to make sure that Thompson is at least off his A-game tonight.
