Iman Shumpert

I mentioned in my preview for this game that Iman Shumpert would need to have a good night, and fortunately, that was the case. For the game, Shumpert had the responsibility of attempting to limit Paul George on both ends of the floor.

Offensively, Shumpert did his job as he was able to record 23 points while shooting 9-18 from the floor and 4-11 from the three-point line. To be fair, Shumpert did score all of his points in the first half of the match, but those points were huge for the Kings starting off the game hot.

Defensively, Shumpert did a solid job when guarding George. The multiple All-Star was able to record 27 points while shooting 9-24 from the floor.

Although 27 points is a lot, we are talking about Shumpert having to guard one of Oklahoma City’s top scorers. So even though he allowed George to get 27 points, he at least made George take a lot of shot attempts in order to reach that mark. Iman was also able to record four steals in the game as well.

When the Kings defeated the Thunder a few weeks back, Shumpert was one of the Kings’ best players on that night. So it is only fitting that he is one of the top players for tonight’s game as well.
