Reason #2: Harry’s Skillset Is As Good As Advertised

Harry Giles was hidden away from the public’s eyes for over a year. The front office had decided to bring Harry along slow and keep him out during his actual rookie season in order to build strength in his knees and legs. Giles worked with the Kings well-respected trainers which were Pete Youngman along with Manny Romero to increase Harry’s chances to have a long and successful career without a recurring injury.

Even though Harry was not playing in front of the Golden 1 Center fans, he still made noise within the Kings community. The word coming out of the practice facility was the fabulous skillset of Giles. He plays above the rim and displayed better passing and playmaking skills than anyone had expected. Giles also has good speed and timing to bring the Kings the shot-blocking presence that they need more of.

The Kings and their fans have only seen a very small sample size of Harry’s play, but he is as good as advertised. He displayed his potential during preseason play as he averaged 13.3 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 2.3 assists a night while shooting 43.3% from the court and recording a Player Efficiency Rating (PER) of 19.8, ranked sixth on the team.
