The Sacramento Kings will begin the second half of their preseason campaign tonight as they face off against the Israeli basketball team Maccabi Haifa.

Basketball will be back in the Golden 1 Center tonight as the Sacramento Kings will play their fourth preseason game. The opponent that the Kings will be hosting is an Israeli professional basketball team named Maccabi Haifa.

The “Rivalry’s” History

Although these two teams rarely meet each other on the basketball court, for obvious reasons,  there is still some history that they share together. The last time these two clubs faced off against each other was two years ago when the Kings were victorious by a score of 135-96. The two teams met even before that during the 2014-2015 preseason where the Kings also won that match by a score of 95-59.

Expectations For The Game

Most likely, the Kings are going to win tonight’s contest. Even though Sacramento is not a good team compared to their NBA counterparts, they are going up against a team who is not as talented as them and plays in a weaker league.

It will be interesting to see how Dave Joerger approaches this game. Throughout preseason so far, he has experimented with different players and lineups that have caught the Kings community by surprise. With the purple and white playing an inferior opponent, I believe Joerger will continue the mad-scientist approach.

Also, it will be intriguing to see if the Kings start playing some of their veteran players. With the team starting a movement of giving their youth a lot of playing time, guys like Kosta Koufos, Zach Randolph, and Iman Shumpert have not had a single second of playing time yet. Tonight could be a good opportunity for them to get some rust off before the regular season begins.
