Not too long ago, Sacramento Kings’ guard Frank Mason III was selected to Team USA’s World Cup Qualifying team. Let us see what the update has been with the Kings’ young facilitator.

For the last year, the Sacramento Kings have been on a massive rebuild which has resulted in their team being surrounded by an immense amount of young talent. One of these talents is Frank Mason III in which Vlade Divac and company hope he can be an asset to the organization down the road.

Throughout the offseason, Mason has been busy. Not only has the young point guard been training for the upcoming regular season, but he also appeared in six summer league games with the Kings last July. Now that it is September, Mason is now working out with the men’s national basketball team as he was selected to the program’s World Cup Qualifying team just a while back.

Final Thoughts

Overall, it is good to see Mason getting some training done with Team USA. Right now the national basketball team is filled with a ton of great talent, so hopefully, Mason is able to learn a lot while being around an elite company.

Last year, Mason had a so-so rookie season. He was able to show promise on the offensive side of the ball but was also inconsistent in his game. Hopefully, Mason is able to improve on both ends of the court. Sacramento also has De’Aaron Fox and Yogi Ferrell on their roster, so a consistently efficient Frank Mason could have the Kings loaded at the point guard spot this season.
