With parts of the 2018-2019 NBA schedule being released, the Sacramento Kings have yet to receive any love from the league.

Right now the NBA season is in its dog days as free agency is dying down and training camps are weeks away from starting up. The fortunate part, however, is that August is the time where the NBA releases its regular season schedule which gives teams the opportunity to see who, where, and when they will be playing their opponents in their upcoming campaigns.

Currently, the NBA has released solely games that are scheduled on important dates of the year. To be specific, opening-week games that will be broadcasted on national television, as well as games that are played on Christmas and Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The Sacramento Kings were left off.

My Thoughts

Do not get me wrong, there are some awesome matchups that the NBA has already set up for the upcoming season. The Los Angeles Lakers and Golden State Warriors for Christmas? As well as the Philadelphia 76ers going up against the Boston Celtics? Yes to both of those games!

But it is discouraging to see that the Kings did not make the list. I guess that is what happens when a team has been living in the basement of the NBA standings for over a decade?

Final Thoughts

Although I am not surprised that the Kings have yet to be scheduled for a game on national television, it is still disheartening to see them get no love from the NBA. Hopefully, once the NBA releases its full schedule, the Kings will get some games that will put them on the national stage.

The purple and white may be young and inexperienced, but they are also raw and hungry to show the world what kind of potential they hold as a collective group.

A superteam, but young, some might say.
