The Sacramento Kings traded Garrett Temple to the Memphis Grizzlies. And in return, the purple and white received back a familiar face.

Well, it is about time. Although the Sacramento Kings have not signed anyone yet in free agency, they did complete a trade with the Memphis Grizzlies.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski, NBA Insider for ESPN, the Kings will be sending Garrett Temple to the Grizzlies, and in return, the Kings will receive Deyonta Davis and Ben McLemore. That is right. THE Ben McLemore who was drafted by Sacramento in 2013.

Thank You, Garrett

It is sad to see Temple being traded. On the court, he was not a star player, but his energy and veteran leadership were extremely valuable to the Kings during their rebuild. It also seems like Temple will miss the Kings and the city of Sacramento as well, as not too long ago he posted a thank you note to the organization via Instagram.

In the 130 games Temple appeared in repping the purple and white, he averaged 8.1 points, 2.6 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 1.1 steals per contest. He also shot 42% from the court and 38.2% from the perimeter.

30 Seconds Of Deyonta

As for who the Kings are receiving back, let us start with Deyonta Davis. For Davis, he has spent the last two seasons with the Grizzlies as a bench player. During that time, he has averaged 4.3 points and 3.2 rebounds per game. He also averaged 12.1 minutes of action in the 98 games he appeared in.

Welcome Back, Old Friend!

As for the final guy, many Kings fans know who he is. Yes, Ben McLemore is going back to the place where he started his NBA career. Although McLemore’s tenure with Sacramento had its ups and downs, hopefully, the second time is the charm and he can become the reliable asset the Kings and their fans hoped he would be when he was first drafted.
