With free agency coming up, the Sacramento Kings need to decide which players they want to sign to their team. According to a source, Mario Hezonja and Jabari Parker are on the list.

On July 1st, the NBA is about to get wild as the free agency period will be in full operation. For the Sacramento Kings, free agency will be an important stage in their summer as they currently have a few holes on their roster that need to be filled. One of the main holes, in my opinion, is a starting small forward.

It seems like Vlade Divac and company agree with my thoughts because not too long ago James Ham, Kings Insider for NBC Sports California, reported in his latest article that Sacramento is indeed interested in Mario Hezonja and Jabari Parker for the right price.

For Hezonja, he is coming off his best campaign so far as an NBA player with the Orlando Magic while Parker finished another solid season with the Milwaukee Bucks.

Final Thoughts

It is good to know that the Kings do realize their hole at the small forward spot and are at least trying to fix it once free agency begins. In my opinion, I think both Hezonja and Parker are risky choices.

For Hezonja, he has not been consistent on either end of the floor. Although he does occasionally showcase flashes of his true potential, he has not proven yet to be a guy who can produce game in and game out. As for Parker, he has shown to be an effective offensive asset so far in his career, but injuries have been an issue as he has suffered two ACL tears in the last four years.

Overall, hearing the news that Sacramento is interested in Hezonja and Parker should excite Kings fans. Although I consider both to be risky signings, both are young and carry the makeup to become the long-term wing player for Sacramento’s future.
