Sacramento Kings Go With Robust Talent, Michael Bagley III, At #2
By Rafe Wong
The Sacramento Kings have decided to invest the second overall pick in the draft on Marvin Bagley III out of the University of Duke.
The news is finally in as the Sacramento Kings have decided to use the second pick of the draft on Marvin Bagley III out of the University of Duke.
Coming into the draft, it was reported that Vlade Divac and company were debating between selecting either Bagley or Luka Doncic with the #2 pick, but in the end, Bagley was the guy for the Kings.
Final Thoughts
To be honest, I would have preferred the Kings to select Doncic. But with that being said, I am still ecstatic that Bagley will be on the Kings this upcoming season.
Right now, I see Bagley as a raw talent on both ends of the floor. Offensively, he showed flashes of dominating in the interior and the ability to shoot from the perimeter. Defensively, he has all the physical tools for him to be an asset on that end of the court.
Although he may not be the most NBA-ready player in this draft, I do see him having one of the highest ceilings compared to his rookie counterparts. Combine his potential with a massive motor and work ethic, I think Bagley and the Kings will be just fine going forward.
