NBA Draft day is here, so we take a look at the 2018 draft preview for the Sacramento Kings.  Everything fans need to know before they watch tonight.

The NBA Draft brings a ton of excitement for all NBA fans.  Fresh young talent comes into the league, and every team has hopes of selecting a superstar player.  Free agency is still yet to happen, and many organizations are undecided for next season, so it is in some ways the ultimate clean slate.

The Sacramento Kings figure to be important players in the 2018 NBA Draft, so let us take a look at where they select and who they might target with those picks.

Where they select

The Kings have two draft choices currently.  They pick second overall and then again in the second round at 37 overall.  Sacramento could make a trade during the draft to acquire more selections, though.  Stay tuned.

Who at pick 2?

The Kings are narrowed their crucial pick down to three options.  Luka Doncic, Marvin Bagley III, and Michael Porter Jr. are the three prospects still in the running.  Doncic and Bagley III may be slightly ahead, but the Sacramento front office has done well at not tipping their hand.

The Kings should select Luka Doncic.  He is the best player and has the skills to be a force in the NBA including being a clutch shot maker and the draft’s best passer.

Who at 37?

Things get a little tricky to predict here, but the Kings would love a combo forward role player.  The problem is the availability may not be there at this pick.  Here are five options Sacramento could target.

Final thoughts

The Sacramento Kings are facing a make or break NBA Draft.  The Kings need to add their centerpiece at pick two to return to contention.  They are rebuilding nicely, but lack that superstar that pushes them into the playoff picture.

Hopefully, Sacramento drafts a future All-NBA player tonight and secures a role player in round two, so fans can look back on this draft as the night the Kings returned to contention.  Wishful thinking, but anything is possible in the draft.
