The NBA Draft takes place on June 21, but the order had a small shakeup after the Brooklyn Nets acquired Dwight Howard from the Charlotte Hornets on June 20.

NBA Draft night is so close, and that means the action will be heating up.  The first trade of the offseason took place on June 20, although it cannot be made official until July 6.

The Charlotte Hornets and new GM Mitch Kupchak decided to trade away Dwight Howard to the Brooklyn Nets.  In return, the Hornets got Timofey Mozgov, pick 45 in the 2018 NBA Draft, a 2021 second round pick and cash.  It is a curious move by Charlotte taking on two years of Mozgov at a hefty salary, but perhaps more deals are to come.

Although not directly impacting where the Sacramento Kings select on Thursday, the move changed up the draft order, so let us take a peek at what the updated 60 selections look like after the trade.

Final thoughts

The Sacramento Kings have two picks.  The front office is still sweating over who to take with the second overall pick.  It is their chance to draft a superstar, but that is easier said than done.  The Kings also have a second-round selection at pick 37 overall on June 21.  It should be an exciting night, so please tune in and enjoy the show.
