NBA Draft: Luka Doncic dominates as Real Madrid roll
By Tyler Watts
NBA Draft prospect Luka Doncic dominated game three of the Spanish ACB finals as Real Madrid took the series lead, but was enough to lock him in at pick two?
NBA Draft night is just days away, and the Sacramento Kings are still deciding on who to take with the second overall pick. DeAndre Ayton looks poised to be the top selection and head to Phoenix, but the Kings are still debating between three players. One of those took the opportunity to stand out on Sunday.
Doncic dominates
Luka Doncic led Real Madrid to an 83-78 win on June 17 to take a two to one series lead in the Spanish ACB finals. Doncic scored 20 points with nine rebounds, three assists, two 3-pointers made, and two turnovers in 24 minutes. He shot two of four from the field and an impressive ten of 11 from the foul line. Here is what ESPN draft expert Mike Schmitz had to say about the performance.
It was a fantastic showing by the 19 year old Slovenian, but did it clear up his draft stock?
Cemented at pick 2?
The Kings are not tipping their hand on which way they are going to go with pick two. Doncic is the best player in this class and should be Sacramento’s selection, but it is difficult to tell if that is going to be the case. Sunday’s performance hopefully cemented him as the number two pick, but we all have to wait until Thursday to find out.
