NBA Draft prospect Luka Doncic scored 11 points in Real Madrid’s June 15 win over Baskonia to even their finals series at one game apiece.

NBA Draft night is almost here, and the Sacramento Kings have one of the most intriguing picks for the night. The second overall pick is where the dominos will begin to fall because DeAndre Ayton seems a lock to be heading to Phoenix with the top pick.

A prime target for the Kings is Slovenian point wing Luka Doncic.  He plays for Real Madrid who is facing Baskonia in the Spanish ACB finals right now.  Real lost game one as Doncic struggled.  Game two took place on June 15 and here is what happened.

Madrid victory

Real Madrid is favored to win, and they bounced back in game two.  They won 98-91 on their home floor.

Doncic started the game, but only 20 minutes partially because of foul trouble.  He scored 11 points with four rebounds, two assists, one steal, four personal fouls and two turnovers.  Doncic shot five of nine from the field, zero of two from 3-point range, and hit one of two free throws.  Not his best game, but Doncic was an impressive plus 17 in the plus/minus category.  If you don’t know, that means Real Madrid outscored Baskonia by 17 points when Doncic was in the game.

Final thoughts

Luka Doncic had a second straight subpar game, but Real Madrid was victorious in game two of their finals series.  The 19-year-old plays again on Sunday, June 17 and we will be back to fill you in on the action.
