The Sacramento Kings have invited Wendell Carter to visit California’s capital. Is he a player for Sacramento to consider with the second pick?

With the NBA Draft under a week away, the Sacramento Kings are not done yet when it comes to inviting and analyzing prospects.

Not too long ago, it was reported by Jason Jones, NBA Writer and Kings’ Insider for the Sacramento Bee, that Wendell Carter will visit Sacramento this Saturday to visit the Kings.

Jones also made it clear in his tweet that this visit is not a pre-draft workout. According to Jones, Kings’ general managers Brandon Williams and Ken Catanella have already seen Carter workout in Los Angeles a couple of weeks back.

Final Thoughts

This is interesting news coming out from the Kings. Although Carter is projected a top-ten prospect in the upcoming draft, he was never considered a legit option for the Kings who hold the second overall pick.

In my opinion, unless the Kings trade their second pick to move back a few spots in the draft order, there should be zero interest in Carter. Do not get me wrong, I think Carter has potential to be a solid starter in the NBA. But I also do think there are too many options that are better for the Kings at #2.
