Former Sacramento Kings point guard Isaiah Thomas let everyone know his feeling that Michael Porter Jr. is the best player in the 2018 NBA Draft.

NBA Draft 2018 is shaping up to be an exciting event.  There is much debate about who is the top player in the class and which prospect the Sacramento Kings should select with the second overall pick.  Part of what makes the draft fun and exciting is nobody knows what these young men will become in the NBA.

Former Kings point guard Isaiah Thomas wanted people to know his feeling on who the best player in this class is, so he sent out the following Tweet.

The Pizza Guy is a firm backer of Michael Porter Jr.  We have not seen Porter Jr. healthy since high school, so it is a possibility that Thomas is correct.  Sacramento is considering him with the second overall pick, but will likely go in another direction on June 21.

Final thoughts

Isaiah Thomas thinks Michael Porter Jr. is the best player in the 2018 NBA Draft class.  Porter Jr. has injury question marks, but the potential to be a big-time scorer like Thomas exists.  MPJ is a combo forward and nearly 6’11 too.

Thomas is an unrestricted free agent this offseason.  He will be searching for a new home on July 1.  After an injury-plagued season, it will be intriguing to see what offers are available to Thomas.  It is another offseason storyline to watch in the coming weeks.
