Jack Cooley may be heading into restricted free agency, but he is working hard at the Sacramento Kings facility to improve his game.

The Sacramento Kings focus is solely on the NBA Draft.  The team has until June 21 to decide on who or what to do with the second overall pick.  The Kings are looking to rebuild their roster and have a young talented core in place.  They lack that superstar that pushes them into contention, though.  Sacramento and their fans hope to find that player with the second overall pick.

When the draft is close, free agency is also right around the corner.  The Kings will have plenty of decisions to make there.  One of them is the decision to bring back Jack Cooley.  Cooley played on a two-way contract last season meaning he is heading into restricted free agency.

Still working hard

The uncertainty about his situation has not stopped Cooley from putting in work, though.  Check out the Tweet below from Kings head performance and strength coach Ramsey Nijem.

Not sure how much weight is on there, but that was impressive.  Cooley works hard on the court too.  That is one thing that endeared him to Kings fans.

Back in Sacramento?

Cooley’s free agency case is a difficult one.  The Kings likely do not want to make the 27-year-old Cooley as part of their 15 man roster.  They are tight on roster space, and Garrett Temple still is undecided on his player option.  Hopefully, Cooley catches on with another team as a reserve big man and keeps his NBA dream alive.

Final thoughts

Jack Cooley is working hard this offseason at the Sacramento Kings facility despite his uncertain future.  He heads into restricted free agency in a few weeks, and it is unknown where Cooley will call home next season.

His most substantial dollar offers may be overseas something Cooley has taken advantage of in the past.  Stay tuned to see where Jack Cooley ends up next season.
