NBA Draft: Marvin Bagley III hangs with Harry Giles in Sacramento
By Tyler Watts
NBA Draft prospect Marvin Bagley III has a private workout with the Kings on Monday, but he came to Sacramento early to hang out with Harry Giles.
NBA Draft night takes place on June 21 meaning we are just over a week away. The Sacramento Kings front office is working hard scouting the prospects. The decision on who to pick at second overall is still up in the air. The process continues on June 11 as they host former Duke big man Marvin Bagley III for a private workout.
Bagley III comes early
Bagley III decided to come to Sacramento a little early, and a King gave him a warm welcome. Check out the Tweet below for some visual proof.
Greeted by a fellow Blue Devil
Another Duke product in Harry Giles decided to hit the town with Bagley III. They were never teammates as Giles was an NBA rookie during Bagley III’s only season for the Blue Devils. Giles even sent out a Tweet about their plans.

Potential second pick?
Count me into the camp that believes the Kings have not made a firm decision on their pick yet. Marvin Bagley III is one of six players they are considering. The list includes Luka Doncic, DeAndre Ayton, Jaren Jackson Jr, Mohamed Bamba, and Michael Porter Jr. Sacramento’s front office may take up until the draft night before locking in on their choice.
Final thoughts
Marvin Bagley III came a day before his scheduled workout with the Sacramento Kings. He decided to spend the evening hanging with current King Harry Giles.
Bagley III has an interesting offensive skillset and could prove to be a deadly weapon in the modern NBA. At just 19 years old, he has a lot of room to grow as well.
Hopefully, the Sacramento Kings nail the pick and secure their franchise player. They have a lot of pieces, but the team needs a superstar to return to contention. The potential is there to grab that piece at pick two. Now, the Kings have to make the correct choice.
