The Sacramento Kings are hosting a summer league this season, and they announced a Lil Jon concert following the events on July 3.

The Sacramento Kings are hosting a summer league for the first time this season.   The new event is called the California Classic and features four teams playing round-robin style over four days.  All games will take place inside the Golden 1 Center.

The Kings schedule for the classic has them kicking off against the Los Angeles Lakers on July 2.  Then, they play the two-time defending NBA champion Golden State Warriors on July 3.  All four teams have a rest day on July 4.  The tournament wraps up with Sacramento facing the Miami Heat on July 5.

The event added another piece of entertainment following an exciting announcement in the Tweet below from the Kings official account.


Lil Jon rocks Sacramento again

Lil Jon returns following the July 3 game against the Warriors to perform a postgame concert.  He is no stranger to Sacramento as he performed during halftime of the season opener in October 2017.  His concert should be another exciting perk to what is shaping up to a fantastic summer league experience.

Final thoughts

The inaugural California Classic features six summer league basketball games and now a Lil Jon concert.  The games are sandwiched around the Fourth of July.  It sounds like a fantastic way to celebrate the holiday.

The California Classic also figures to be Kings fans first chance to see Harry Giles play for the team.  The 2017 draft choice sat out all of his first NBA season as he recovered from a knee injury.  He is expecting to return to action on July 2.  That alone makes it worthy of following the tournament.  Stay tuned.
