Not too long ago, the NBPA (National Basketball Player Association) awarded Sacramento Kings’ forward Vince Carter as the most respected player.

If one is unfamiliar with this award, it is determined by the players in the NBA, and obviously, the name of the honor speaks for itself.

To find out more details about Vince earning this award, check out this post the Sacramento Kings’ digital team published recently.

My Reaction

I am thrilled that Carter was able to win this award. Even when he was not a member of the purple and white, I was a big fan of Vinsanity back when he was crushing the league with the Toronto Raptors. Similar to others, his ability to score and dunk the basketball gravitated towards me the most. The 2000 NBA Dunk Contest is still my favorite dunk contest to this day.

Even when he left the Raptors and later on joined the New Jersey Nets (now Brooklyn Nets), Orlando Magic, and other teams, I still admired Vince as a player due to him being a positive asset for his teams.

Final Thoughts

Overall, it is great to see Carter get the respect he has earned from the current players in the NBA. He may not dominate the league like he used to, but he can still light up the basketball court occasionally and has become a valuable mentor for teams who have young talent.

Congratulations on the honor, Vince! Whether or not you stay with the Kings for another season, it has been an awesome ride so far with you rocking the purple and white!
